After a brawl in a hospital ward resulted in the death of another patient, a patient was arrested for murder.

After a brawl broke out between two patients at Rotherham District General Hospital in South Yorkshire around 8.54 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 12, hospital staff phoned the police.

After a 48-year-old man died from his injuries in the early hours of today morning, Feb. 13, officers detained a 47-year-old male on suspicion of murder.

A murder inquiry has been begun by the police.

After yesterday’s tragedy, the man’s family is being helped by professional officers, according to a spokesman for South Yorkshire Police.

“Officers were called by a member of the hospital staff at 8.54 p.m. reporting that two patients were fighting,” they said.

“In the early hours of this morning, one of the patients, a 48-year-old man, died of his injuries.

“We’re working closely with the hospital and plan to stay on the scene this evening as we investigate.”

“The man’s family has been notified, and professional cops are assisting them.”

“Please call 101 if you have any information that could help with the investigation.” The incident number is 939 from February 12th.”
