After Mesut Ozil was frozen out, Fenerbahce began the process of terminating his contract.

Mesut Ozil’s contract with Fenerbahce has reportedly been terminated, putting the midfielder on the verge of quitting the club. Fenerbahce suspended the former Arsenal and Real Madrid player last month after an alleged altercation with interim manager Ismail Kartal during a game against Konyaspor.

When asked about the likelihood of Ozil returning to the squad, Fenerbahce president Ali Koc remarked, according to Diario AS, “We do not have that plan at the moment.” This is not a simple decision to make. Fenerbahce is the most important thing.’

Despite the fact that Ozil’s contract is slated to expire in June 2024, talks to terminate it are set to commence. Ozil’s agent, Erkut Sogut, indicated at the end of March that his client had no plans to leave Fenerbahce.

‘Mesut did not want to make it tough in the current situation,’ Sogut told reporters through Fanatik. He trains with Ozan since he does not want to leave him alone. ‘Because of the tragic occurrences with the coach, that’s what makes sense right now.’

‘Such occasions are always depressing. For all parties, a painful process has begun. The most important thing is to maintain your composure while waiting for the final judgment.

‘I state this emphatically here. Mesut is not going anywhere, and he has no intention of leaving. He will remain a Fenerbahce player for another two years, when his contract expires.

‘He signed a three-and-a-half-year contract with Fenerbahce, during which he played for free for six months. He didn’t make any money from January till the end of the season.

‘Mesut didn’t go about slamming people. What happened there will not be forgotten. If his punishment is imposed, it will be carried out and the situation will be resolved.’

Ozil joined Fenerbahce in January 2021 after falling out of favor at Arsenal under Mikel Arteta.

Hull City, who are owned by Turkish media group Acun Medya, have been associated with Ozil in the Championship.
