Andrew Woolfolk, a saxophonist for Earth, Wind, and Fire, died at the age of 71.

Andrew Woolfolk, a longstanding member of Earth, Wind & Fire’s saxophone section, died at the age of 71.

Philip J. Bailey, the band’s lead singer, shared the terrible news on Instagram.

Bailey captioned a photo he took with Andrew, ” “We became friends and band mates when I met him in high school. His name was Andrew Paul Woolfolk.

“We lost him today, after he had been sick for more than six years. From this Land of the Dying to the Land of the Living, he has Transitioned on to the Forever.

“Wonderful memories. Exceptional ability. Funny, but also competitive. With a quick wit. And there’s always the styling.
Booski…
My friend, I’ll see you on the other side.”
