Harry Maguire, the Manchester United captain, received a bomb threat to his home.

Harry Maguire, the captain of Manchester United, has received a bomb threat to his home.

Cheshire Police were alerted to the threat and performed a search of the England international’s home, where he lives with his two young children and fiancee Fern Hawkins.

“Harry has received a significant threat to his family home in the last 24 hours,” a spokeswoman for Maguire said.

“He has informed the authorities, who are investigating the situation.” Harry’s top goal is certainly the safety of his family and those around him.

“He will continue to prepare as usual for this weekend’s match, and we will make no additional comments at this time.”

“On Wednesday 20 April, Cheshire Police were contacted to reports of a bomb threat at an address in the Wilmslow area,” according to a statement from the force.

“There were no evacuations, but a police explosives dog was dispatched to the home today afternoon, Thursday 21 April, to undertake a search of the gardens and surrounding area as a precaution.”

The threat came in the form of an email, according to The Sun, threatening to plant a bomb at Maguire’s family home, where he lives with his girlfriend Fern Hawkins and their two girls.

The threat against the United captain comes at a time when his on-field performances have been widely questioned by fans and commentators.
