Ivan Reitman, the filmmaker of “Ghostbusters” and “Stripes,” has died at the age of 75.

Ivan Reitman, a legendary film producer and director, died at the age of 75.

His family confirmed in a statement on Sunday night, Feb. 13, that Reitman died peacefully in his sleep at his home in Montecito, California.

“Our family is grieving the untimely loss of a husband, father, and grandfather who taught us to always seek the magic in life,” said Jason, Catherine, and Caroline Reitman in a statement.

“We can take solace in the fact that his work as a filmmaker provided joy and amusement to countless others all across the world. While we grieve in private, we hope that those who knew him via his films will always remember him.”
