Manchester City have agreed to pay £51 million for Borussia Dortmund attacker Erling Haaland.

Manchester City have agreed to pay £51.1 million for Borussia Dortmund attacker Erling Haaland.

City has paid the Haaland’s release clause and expects to spend £85.5 million in total, including agent fees, signing bonus, and other expenses.

Haaland will join City on July 1 if the club and the player agree on terms.

“Manchester City can confirm we have struck an agreement in principle with Borussia Dortmund for the transfer of striker Erling Haaland to the Club on 1st July 2022,” City said in a statement posted on their official website.

“The transfer is contingent on the Club and the player agreeing to terms.”

On Monday, the 21-year-old finished his medical at Hospital Erasme in Brussels.

Since joining Dortmund from RB Salzburg in January 2020, Haaland has scored 85 goals in 88 games. On Saturday, Dortmund will play Hertha Berlin in their final game of the season.

Haaland will earn roughly £400,000 per week, similar to Manchester City’s highest-paid player Kevin De Bruyne, and will be under contract until 2027.
