The Russian president, Vladimir Putin, is now less powerful than he was before the invasion of Ukraine, according to the UK government.

As a result of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, which went horribly and not according to plan, the Russian army’s prestige has been eroded, and Russia is now a “lesser country,” according to UK Defence Secretary Ben Wallace.

Wallace, speaking to Sky News, said: “President Putin is no longer the powerhouse he once was. He is now a man imprisoned in a cage he constructed himself. “His force is depleted, and he has sustained heavy losses.” “Russia’s formidable army’s prestige has been tarnished.

“Not only does he have to deal with the implications of what he’s doing to Ukraine, but he also has to deal with the consequences of what he’s done to his own army.” According to Wallace, Russian forces appear to be regrouping and redirecting their focus to Ukraine’s south and east. “It’s something we’ve seen before. It constantly seems to get worse. More civilian attacks and civilian places are targeted.”

He goes on to say that international allies have committed to provide Ukraine with more military equipment and “lethal help,” such as armored vehicles, long-range artillery, and ammunition.
