A 21-year-old college student was found dead in a hospital after taking Uber after a night out with pals.

After a night out with friends, a college student died after riding an Uber.

The 21-year-old University of New Orleans student was taken to a hospital unresponsive and pronounced dead.

On Friday, Feb. 18, Ciaya Jordan Whetstone went to a pub with her friend Juliet Orr after watching Mardi Gras parades.

Ciaya was transported to her boyfriend’s residence in the suburbs, according to Juliet, and then got an Uber to check on her dog in the middle of the night, according to the New Orleans Advocate.

Ciaya told her roommate, Reese White, that she was going to “go find her car” with an Uber driver she called a buddy.

“I attempted to talk her out of going,” Reese told the newspaper.

Robert Torres, another of Ciaya’s friends, contacted her at 1.30 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 19, and overheard the driver ask her, “Do you want to party?”

Ciaya allegedly promised to call Robert back, but she never did.

It was unclear who had done it, according to the news outlet.

It is currently unknown what caused the death.

Ciaya’s stepfather expressed his family’s “horror” and stated that they have “a terrible few days ahead of us.”

Ciaya was a business administration junior who was set to graduate next year, according to university officials.
