‘He should be embarrassed about some of the things he’s done.’ – Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, NBA icon, critiques LeBron James

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, an NBA legend, has slammed LeBron James, saying he should be ashamed of some of the things he has said and done.

Prior to the Los Angeles Lakers’ 129-118 loss to the Denver Nuggets, Abdul-Jabbar questioned James’ social demeanor, claiming he has previously been caught’standing on both sides of the fence.’

‘Some of the things he’s done and said, as far as I can tell, are really beneath him,’ Abdul-Jabbar told reporters.

‘Some of the fantastic things he’s done, you know, he’s virtually on both sides of the fence.’ It’s difficult for me to accept that when he’s devoted to a different point of view on everything. It’s difficult to tell where he’s standing. You have to keep an eye on him at all times.’

Abdul-Jabbar has been critical of James on several occasions, but he underlined that his most recent words were not intended to be interpreted as “throwing stones.”

‘I admire what he’s done that has attracted all of our attention,’ Abdul-Jabbar added.

‘Is it really necessary to send an entire school to college?’ Wow. That’s incredible. You have to give him credit for his thinking and readiness to back it up with his pocketbook. As a result, I’m not casting aspersions. I just wish he wouldn’t, because some of the things he’s done should make him ashamed. That’s exactly my point of view.’

Abdul-Jabbar, 74, spoke before awarding Carmelo Anthony, James’ teammate, the new Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Trophy, which recognizes the NBA’s Social Justice Champion for the 2020-21 season.
