Kourtney Kardashian claims that the medicine she took to try to conceive through in vitro fertilization resulted in serious adverse effects such as weight gain and menopause-like symptoms.
The 42-year-old reality queen revealed the news in a trailer for her and her family’s upcoming Hulu show, “The Kardashians,” which was posted on Instagram before being pulled down.
In the sneak peek, Kardashian remarked of her reproductive procedures, “It hasn’t been the most amazing experience.”
In a discussion with her mother, Kris Jenner, the Poosh entrepreneur also discussed some of the social media backlash she’s received during her IVF treatment, including how she’s “gained so much weight.”
Kardashian told her mother, “It’s very nasty to comment on somebody when you have no idea what they’re going through.”
“They sent me into menopause with the drugs they’ve been giving me,” she added. “I’m officially in menopause.”
Jenner, 66, was taken aback by her eldest daughter’s revelations and said, “Based on what?” “Is it a drug?” “Yes,” Kardashian said in response.
The medication’s name was not revealed by the “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” alum.
Fans on social media agreed that Kardashian’s appearance should not be mocked.
“This is very true, always felt awful for her when others have commented on her weight & ‘looking pregnant’…,” one user wrote under a post of the teaser footage. “God bless her.”
Another added, “Anyone who has gone through IVF can totally relate to this. It isn’t the most amazing experience.”
The reality TV star and Blink-182 drummer got engaged after dating for about nine months.
In December 2021, Kardashian put an end to pregnancy rumors when a fan asked, “Not to be that chick, but… is there a preg belly?” alongside a photo of her in a bikini.
“Are we really going to do this every time I publish a photo?” the mother of three retorted.
Kardashian did not reveal her desire to have a child with boyfriend Travis Barker until the teaser for “The Kardashians” was released earlier this week.
“Travis and I want to have a baby,” the mother of three said in the clip, which included video of the couple’s October 2021 engagement.
With ex Scott Disick, Kardashian has two sons, Mason, 11, and Reign, 6, as well as a daughter, Penelope, nine.
Meanwhile, Barker and ex-wife Shanna Moakler have two children: son Landon, 18, and daughter Alabama, 16. He also helps raise Atiana De La Hoya, Moakler’s 22-year-old daughter with ex-husband Oscar De La Hoya.
