Kanye West argues his estranged wife Kim Kardashian can’t prove he created the harsh social media postings against her and lover Pete Davidson, so the posts can’t be used as evidence in their contentious divorce.
West’s attorneys claim the communications are hearsay and inadmissible in court, according to legal documents acquired by TMZ.
According to the docs, “Kim states she read something online reportedly by Kanye and characterizes the posts in her affidavit as misinformation.” “Kim needed to present the social media posts as evidence, demonstrating that they were written by Kanye.”
West said earlier this month that he was accepting “accountability” for his social media rants over Kardashian, so the argument sounds strange.
He said, “I recognize releasing screen shots was unsettling and came across as pestering Kim.” “I accept responsibility.” In real time, I’m still learning. I’m not an expert in everything. It takes a good listener to be a good leader.”
He also apologized for using all caps in the since-deleted posts, saying it makes people “feel like I’m yelling at them.”
Kardashian asked a court to approve her divorce papers earlier this week, stating that the “Donda” rapper’s posts were causing her “emotional distress.”
The inventor of Skims wrote, “I very much desire to be divorced.” “Kanye has been spreading false information on social media about our private problems and co-parenting, causing emotional hardship.”
West, 44, has blasted Kardashian, 41, for a variety of reasons, including accusing her of kidnapping their 4-year-old daughter, Chicago, and allowing their 8-year-old daughter, North, to use TikTok.
He’s also gone after Kardashian’s boyfriend, “SNL” star Pete Davidson, in a new song, threatening to “kick his ass,” calling him a “d–khead,” and oddly naming him “Skete” in social media posts.
West, who is on his third lawyer, has fought Kardashian’s divorce request.
In February 2021, the former “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” star filed for divorce from West. Saint, 6, and Psalm, 2, are their other boys.
