Manchester United’s stars are being questioned. Ralf Rangnick’s decision to keep captain Harry Maguire on the pitch despite concerns that his performances “do not exceed the club’s standards”

Some of Manchester United captain Harry Maguire’s teammates are reportedly questioning his status in the team.

The 28-year-old England international has had a rough season at Old Trafford, with his form being called into doubt after a series of high-profile errors, notably recent games against Burnley and Southampton.

Despite this, he has mainly maintained his position in the team, a fact that some of his teammates have quietly questioned behind the scenes, according to the Times.

His poor form is said to have irritated several of his teammates, who have vented their frustrations at the club’s Carrington training base. They believe his performances have fallen short of the club’s expectations this season.

It’s not the first time this season that reports have surfaced about Maguire’s place in the team being questioned.

After their 4-2 defeat against Leicester in October, it was alleged that some players ripped into one other in a team meeting, with one challenging Maguire’s captaincy.

The defender has spent much of his tenure at Old Trafford as captain, having been given the armband just six months after coming from Leicester.
