Novak Djokovic to finally ‘take COVID-19 vaccine’ after his deportation from Australia

After watching Rafael Nadal win a record 21st Grand Slam at the Australian Open, Novak Djokovic’s biographer claims that the Serbian will finally get his Covid-19 immunization.

Djokovic was deported from Australia earlier this year, just before the competition, after arriving with a medical exemption that allowed him to compete without vaccinations. When Australia’s border force cancelled his visa while he was in hotel quarantine, he went to court to try to overturn the decision, but he was unsuccessful.

However, it appears that Nadal’s victory, paired with other events adopting harsher vaccination regulations, may have swayed his opinion.

‘What you hear from his environment, I think he’s getting vaccinated,’ said his biographer Daniel Muksch on Austrian TV channel ServusTV.

‘Perhaps the final in Melbourne had something to do with it.’ Rafael Nadal’s age of 21 is unquestionably pushing him.’

‘A Lifetime At War,’ Muksch’s book on Djokovic, will be out in March.

On Sunday, Nadal beat World No. 2 Daniil Medvedev in a thrilling final, coming back from a two-set deficit to win the match and surpass both Djokovic and Roger Federer with 21 titles. On a scale of one to ten, the other two are at the same level.

Djokovic congratulated Nadal on his 21st Grand Slam title on Twitter, writing: ‘Congratulations to @RafaelNadal for 21st GS.

‘Wonderful achievement. Always an inspiring battling spirit that triumphed yet again.

‘@Medwed33 (Medvedev’s Twitter handle) gave it his all on the field and played with the passion and determination that we have come to expect from him.’
