Robert Lewandowski ‘agrees’ to join Barcelona after ‘informing Bayern Munich that he will not sign a new contract.’

Robert Lewandowski, the Bayern Munich superstar, has reportedly agreed to terms with Barcelona after informing his German club that he will not sign a new deal.

The striker’s current contract with the club expires in 2023, and he has recently been linked with a move to Barcelona.

According to TVP Sport, the 33-year-old has informed the club’s CEO and veteran goalkeeper Oliver Kahn that he intends to quit the club and has reached an agreement with Barcelona on personal terms.

‘All contract details have been negotiated,’ according to reports, and Bayern Munich is already prepared for life without the Polish international.

If Lewandowski joins Barcelona, he will become the first Polish player to play for the club.

Since club legend Xavi succeeded Ronald Koeman as manager, the Catalan giants have made great progress.

Last week, Spanish daily Sport said that Lewandowski ‘would do everything’ to join Barcelona, and that the Spanish club could offer Sergino Dest, a target of the reigning Bundesliga winners, in exchange.

In his eight seasons at the club, he has established himself as one of the club’s finest ever players, trailing only Gerd Muller on the all-time scoring list. Since joining the club from rivals Borussia Dortmund in 2014, Lewandowski has a total of 340 goals in 369 games.
