Serena Williams, an award-winning tennis player, is taking part in the Academy Awards buzz by promoting ‘King Richard,’ a biopic based on Williams’ Tennis coach father, Richard Williams.
Williams said on Instagram in response to the film’s latest six Academy Award nominations:
“I awoke to this. Our film has been nominated for an Academy Award!!!!!!! This is OBSCENE!!!!!!! From Compton to Wimbledon to the Academy Awards, we’ve covered it all. Everyone has the ability to fantasize. And it’s possible that your dream will come true. Okay, I’ll admit that I’m crying this morning. “Congratulations to the entire cast and crew of the picture.”
