Simone Biles, an Olympic gold medalist from the United States, is engaged to her NFL player boyfriend Jonathan Owens, whom she met on social internet less than two years ago.
Biles, 24, shared the good news on Instagram this morning, along with beautiful photographs of Owens, 26, getting down on one knee to propose on Valentine’s Day.
The pro gymnast wrote, ‘THE EASIEST YES.’ ‘I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you; you’re all I’ve ever wanted and more!’ FIANCÉ, let’s get married.’
‘Ready for eternity with you,’ Owens wrote in a comment on the photo.
‘Woke up this morning with a fiancée,’ the Houston Texans football safety wrote with multiple photographs on Instagram.
‘Appreciate my dawg,’ says the narrator. @don julio314 for assisting me in setting everything up; she had no idea what was in store,’ he added. ‘[Jeweler] @zofrost, you went crazy on this one dude, you truly made the night special,’ says the jeweler.
The ring was designed by ZoFrost of ZoFrost & Co, however facts about how many carats it weighs are still unknown.
Biles has been seeing her beau for two years and owns six Olympic medals, including four golds from the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics.
In March 2020, they met through social media for the first time.
Biles told the Wall Street Journal, ‘He would say I slid into his DMs.’ ‘I saw him and thought to myself, “Oh, he’s very cute,” so I introduced myself… I then noticed that he was in the Houston area, so we kept conversing for a while before meeting up a week or two later.’
Owens admitted that he didn’t actually know about the gold medalist was when she contact him.
‘I didn’t know who she was,’ he told Texas Monthly. ‘I just hadn’t heard of her, and when I told her that, that’s one of the things she liked.’
He said they ended up ‘hanging out right before the pandemic.’
‘It was one of the few times in her life where everything was just shut off and she couldn’t do anything. So we used it to get to know each other — really get to know each other. It created our bond and made it stronger. Now I’m so thankful.’
