The late rapper’s youngest child has stage 3 kidney illness, according to his fiancée.

Desiree Lindstrom, the mother of 5-year-old Exodus Simmons, recently spoke up about her son’s illness and how her life has changed since losing her soon-to-be husband about a year ago.

“He still has stage 3 renal illness,” Lindstrom claimed on the podcast “It’s Tricky with Raquel Harper,” implying that Exodus had the disease since birth or shortly afterward.

Chronic renal disease is divided into five stages. The National Kidney Foundation estimates that around half of a patient’s kidney function has been lost by stage 3.

Kidney disease is referred to be chronic (CKD) because the organs’ function deteriorates over time, according to the Cleveland Clinic. Kidney failure or end-stage kidney disease can occur as a result of CKD, but this isn’t always the case.

“I just keep his potassium levels low.” Exodus’ illness prevents him from eating high-potassium meals, according to Lindstrom. “He visits the doctor on a regular basis.” I make sure his creatinine levels are where they need to be in order to keep him stable.”

Kidney disease in children under the age of four is usually caused by birth abnormalities or inherited diseases, according to the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases.

Overall, Lindstrom claims that “Exodus is stable” and that he is “confident.”

Lindstrom claimed “a lot has been going on” and that “a lot of different things” had occurred after DMX’s death, the most significant of which is that she is training to become an esthetician.

She stated, “I’m learning how to perform facials, waxing, and trying to build myself.” “All I want to do is build myself up to be a wonderful mother to Exodus.” For one thing, I want him to see that he has a strong mother who can stand on her own. And I’m simply putting my faith in God to get me through it.”

The late DMX and his fiancée, Desiree Lindstrom, got engaged in 2019.

Earl Simmons, aka DMX, died on April 9, 2021, at the age of 50, one week after suffering a heroin overdose. His brain was deprived of oxygen for almost 30 minutes, causing a heart attack, according to reports.

In addition to Exodus, the New York native left 14 other children behind.
