Tony Rock, Chris Rock’s brother, refuses to accept Will Smith’s apologies.
Tony Rock, Chris Rock’s brother, has rejected Will Smith’s apology for hitting the comedian across the face at the 2022 Academy Awards on Sunday.
“Do you approve of the apology?” a fan asked Tony over Twitter. Tony, 47, simply said “No” on Tuesday.
In a statement posted to Instagram Monday, the “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” alum, 53, apologized to Chris, 57, for the slap heard around the world.
Smith wrote, “I’d like to openly apologize to you, Chris.” “I was wrong and out of line.” I’m embarrassed, and my actions do not reflect the guy I aspire to be. Violence has no place in a world of love and peace.”
After Chris made a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith’s baldness, the actor attempted to justify the violence by claiming that he was simply defending his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith.
“Violence is poisonous and harmful in all of its forms,” he wrote. “My conduct at last night’s Academy Awards was disgusting and irresponsible.” Jokes about my Jada’s medical condition are part of the job, but one was too much for me to handle, and I reacted emotionally.”
