On Tuesday, April 12, a lady was detained in Jammu and Kashmir’s Samba area for savagely hitting her 9-month-old infant.
The woman was shown flailing, slapping, and throwing the child on a bed in the disturbing footage, which was presumably shot by a relative.
Preeti Sharma, a resident of Upper Kamila Purmandal, was arrested after the heartbreaking video went popular on social media.
When her husband and the village chief of Bri Kamila area in Samba district, Mukhtiyar Singh, viewed the video, they promptly approached the police and a case was filed.
The woman has been apprehended, according to SSP Samba Abhishek Mahajan, who also said that the female child has been handed back to her husband.
“An FIR has been made against the lady for cruelly assaulting her infant,” said SDPO Bari Brahmana Shivali Kotwal, who confirmed the incident.
