According to a Chinese official, the United States is the “true destroyer” of international peace and is to blame for the conflict in Ukraine. America is “the initiator and principal motivator” of Putin’s invasion, according to Zhang Hanhui, the Chinese ambassador to Russia, and “their ultimate purpose is to exhaust and crush Russia.”
Washington was forewarned by Mr. Hanhui that adopting a similar strategy in Taiwan would lead to “an even bigger shattering failure” than it allegedly experienced in Ukraine. The Putin supporter ambassador accused the US of purposely extending NATO to “threaten” Russia and placed the blame for the tens of thousands of dead in Ukraine on that country.
Hanhui also stated in a startling statement to the Kremlin news agency TASS that China “seriously opposes” the US’s erroneous hegemony, intimidation, and bullying tactics. “US hegemony and power politics have emerged as the greatest threat to the advancement and peaceful expansion of human civilisation,” the report states.

The remarks were made as Taiwan conducted additional live-fire drills in territorial waters after Beijing concluded its largest-ever military operations near the autonomous island. Since Putin’s soldiers invaded its neighbor on February 24, China has maintained a fairly neutral stance regarding Russia’s conflict in Ukraine.
