Following Mason Greenwood’s arrest for rape and assault, some Manchester United players have started following him on Instagram.
Greenwood, 20, was unfollowed by celebrities such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Paul Pogba, and David DeGea after stunning allegations that he assaulted his 18-year-old student girlfriend over the weekend.
Victor Lindelof was the most recent to remove Greenwood, 20, but after unfollowing his colleague earlier this week, the Swedish defender has suddenly added the striker to his list of individuals he is following.
Mason Greenwood was arrested on charges of rape and assault on Monday, and Lindelof first followed him on Instagram.
On Tuesday, Lindelof had stopped following his team mate.
However, on Wednesday February 2 after his release from detention, Greenwood had been restored to the list of people Lindelof is following.
Marcus Rashford, Jesse Lingard, and Fred were not following Greenwood on Instagram as of Monday, January 31, but after the footballer was released on bail on Wednesday, they added him to their list of persons to follow.
After frightening photographs and audio surfaced on social media alleging he assaulted his fiancée, the England striker was originally detained on Sunday.
Greenwood was arrested for the third night on suspicion of sexual assault and threats to kill by Greater Manchester Police on Tuesday, February 1.
Manchester United has also deleted all Mason Greenwood products off its website, and Nike has stopped the player’s sponsorship relationship as a result of the claims.
Cadbury also announced that Greenwood will not feature on any of their marketing products while the striker was removed from FIFA 22 in an update on Tuesday.
