A young mother’s disfigured body was discovered in a park in south-western Colombia.
Kelly Johana Tamayo Bórquez, a 26-year-old mother of four, was discovered at 6:40 a.m. on Sunday, January 30 at the Biosaludable park in the El Vergel district of the municipality of Buga, Valle.
She had been “at risk” from an unnamed former lover, according to reports.
According to local sources, she had been stripped naked and appeared to have been battered to death with clubs and stones.
According to Cali24, Kelly’s face had been nearly completely obliterated by the attack, and authorities discovered proof of a sexual assault.
“She was hit on the head with rocks and clubs, she was pulled, since you can see the marks where she was, obviously she was battling with that person,” Alexandra Bohorquez, the victim’s aunt, is reported in local reports as saying.
“We demand justice and that this crime be solved, that it not go unpunished,” she continued.
“The National Police has a specialized investigation group in conjunction with the Attorney General’s Office to establish the motives and aggressors and thus be able to address this terrible tragedy,” said Colonel Nelson Dabey Parrado, local police commander for Valle del Cauca.
