Bob Saget died from head trauma, family says

Bob Saget, an American stand-up comedian, actor, and television host, died from a head injury that his family disclosed he likely ignored at the time.

On January 9, Saget, 65, was discovered dead in his hotel bed in Orlando, Florida, immediately after a comedy engagement.

“The authorities have determined that Bob died as a result of head trauma,” his family said in a statement to the media on February 9.

“They came to the conclusion that he banged the back of his head on something by mistake, didn’t think much of it, and went to sleep.”

Saget’s death had already been ruled out due to drugs and foul play, but police assumed he died of a heart attack or stroke.

Saget had a bump on the back of his skull and died from a brain bleed shortly after his show, according to TMZ. Investigators believe he went to sleep comfortably after the show.

“As we continue to grieve together, we ask that everyone remember Bob’s love and joy, and the lessons he taught us all: to be nice to everyone, to let the people you love know you love them, and to confront difficult times with hugs and laughing,” his family stated.

The funeral for Saget, who starred in “Full House,” was held on Saturday.
