Joe Exotic may be in prison, but he still wants to marry.
According to TMZ, the Netflix actor is eager to divorce estranged husband Dillon Passage so he may marry a fellow inmate called John Graham.
The “Tiger King” star met Graham in February 2021 while both were incarcerated in FMC Fort Worth, Texas, and the two are still together despite Graham’s release.
Exotic’s new love interest, according to court paperwork, was incarcerated for burglary and handgun possession. He was condemned to more than 12 years in prison in 2012, but he was recently released.
Exotic, 59, is presently serving a 21-year jail sentence for the murder of animal protection activist Carole Baskin for hire, and he and his second spouse, Dillon Passage, have been estranged for some time.
Passage, 25, is rejecting charges made by Exotic’s lawyers that he is refusing to sign divorce papers, according to Page Six.
The couple married in Davis, Okla., on Dec. 11, 2017, just two months after Exotic’s previous husband, Travis Maldonado, died in a self-inflicted, accidental shooting. However, they have been estranged for more than a year.
In March 2021, Passage wrote on Instagram that the couple was splitting.
“This wasn’t an easy decision to make,” he wrote, “but Joe and I both see that this scenario isn’t fair to either of us.”
Passage disclosed his new connection with a man named John in July of last year.
“I’ve planned on keeping my relationship private for personal reasons,” Passage captioned a slideshow of the couple’s photos, “but lately I’ve been having a terrible time dealing with things happening in my life and John has been my rock and helping me get through it all.”
