Valentine Ozornwafor, a Super Eagles defender, has lost consciousness twice on the pitch, according to a Belgian club.

Sporting Charleroi, a Belgian team, has released updates on the health of Nigerian defender Valentine Ozornwafor, who was knocked out twice during a league game over the weekend.

On Saturday, February 19, during a league game against Royale Union Saint Gilloise (RUSG), Ozornwafor caused a major fright when he collapsed twice on the pitch and lost consciousness.

Ozornwanfor, a former Enyimba player, was hit in the face by Royal Union striker Dante Vanzeir in a challenge that caused him to fall facedown, lose consciousness, and be stretchered off the ground in the 46th minute.

Charleroi FC offered an update on the health of the central defender in a tweet, saying there is no reason to be concerned.

Everything is in control, according to the Belgian club, because the player is now conscious and under supervision.

“The initial update on Valentine Ozornwafor, our defender, is encouraging. “He is currently aware and will stay under monitoring, according to the concussion protocol,” Charleroi posted on Twitter after losing consciousness twice on the field.

Ozornwanfor, 22, joined Charleroi on loan from Galatasary in Turkey, having previously played on loan at Almeria in Spain.
