‘We are here, in Kyiv, defending Ukraine,’ President Zelensky says as Russian troops move on the city, saying to EU leaders, ‘this may be the last time you see me alive.’ (Video)

As Vladimir Putin’s troops moved on the city, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky issued a video from central Kyiv vowing to stay and defend the capital against the Russian assault.

On Friday night, Zelensky and his closest aides swore to continue opposing the Russian military attack in order to protect Ukraine and its independence.

We’ve all arrived. Our armed forces have arrived. The citizens of society have arrived. As he stood outside the presidential building in Kyiv with his prime minister, chief of staff, and other senior advisers, Zelensky stated, “We’re all here defending our freedom, our country, and it will stay this way.”

Last night, Zelensky told EU leaders that ‘this might be the last time you see me alive’ after the embattled president was told that Russian special forces are planning to assassinate him.
