Donald Trump is now back on social media with his new social media platform called Truth.
According to a tweet from his son, Donald Jr., Trump shared his first post on his upcoming social media platform Truth Social, writing: ‘Time for some Truth!!!’
Trump’s alleged post read: ‘Get ready! Your favorite president will see you soon’
Truth Social is slated to launch Monday, February 21 according to its Apple App Store listing and the platform is almost an identical replica of Twitter, the social media platform that Trump was an avid user on before being suspended.
Social media users, echoing Donald Jr.’s assertions, allege that the beta version of Truth Social went live for some users, including the former president, who has been testing the network.
‘TRUTH Social (beta) has landed, and President Trump is active on his own account!’ Right Side Broadcasting Network’s vice president of operations, Liz Willis, tweeted. ‘The planet is in the process of healing.’
Since being banned from Twitter and Facebook in the aftermath of the Jan. 6 attack on the US Capitol, when a pro-Trump mob attacked police and stormed Congress, Trump has talked about his plans to take on Big Tech.
Trump Media Technology Group was unveiled at the end of last year, with plans for a subscription video-on-demand service named TMTG+ that would include entertainment.
Trump reportedly joined the social media network on February 10, according to screenshots of his Truth Social account.
He had 175 followers as of Tuesday afternoon. Because the platform is still not open to everyone, it’s unknown if his following has expanded since then.
Last fall, Trump announced the creation of Truth Social, saying the platform would “fight back against the ‘Big Tech’ companies of Silicon Valley, which have used their unilateral power to silence opposing voices in America.” Trump, who will serve as TMTG’s chairman, said the platform would “create a rival social network to the current ‘liberal media consortium” and “fight back against the ‘Big Tech’ companies of Silicon Valley, which have used their unilateral power to silence opposing voices in America.”
‘I founded TRUTH Social and TMTG to challenge Big Tech’s oppression. ‘We live in a world where the Taliban has a sizable Twitter presence, but your beloved American President has been silenced,’ he stated in October.
‘This is inexcusable.’ I’m really looking forward to sending out my first TRUTH on TRUTH Social. TMTG was formed with the goal of giving everyone a voice.
