‘I was quite fatigued and exhausted,’ Queen Elizabeth says of her battle with Covid-19.

Covid left the Queen of England “extremely fatigued and exhausted,” she said.

Queen Elizabeth II, who is 95 years old, was infected with the illness earlier this year and has battled and recovered from it.
She shared her experience to a former virus sufferer whose father and sibling perished from the sickness during a virtual hospital visit on Sunday, April 10.

She told former Covid patient Asef Hussain and his wife Shamina during a video call to the Royal London Hospital when it established the Queen Elizabeth Unit:

“Doesn’t it [Covid] make you feel incredibly sleepy and exhausted?”

“This dreadful pandemic. It’s not a pleasant outcome.”

Hussain told the Queen that 500 friends and family members from all across the world were praying for her husband on a Zoom call. “So you have a large family, or a large effect on people?” the monarch inquired of the couple.

“Of course, not being allowed to see your family was very painful,” the Queen added, referring to the restrictions on people seeing loved ones being treated in hospitals at the time.
