‘I’m back!’ says Lewis Hamilton, who has been silent on social media since losing the Formula One world championship to Max Verstappen two months ago.

Lewis Hamilton, the Formula One driver, has returned to social media after an eight-week hiatus.

Since losing to Max Verstappen in the final race of 2021, the seven-time world champion had been silent.

The 37-year-old hasn’t blogged since the tumultuous defeat, and speculation regarding his future in Formula One is rife.

“I’ve been gone now I’m back,” he captioned his image on Saturday afternoon, February 5.

Hamilton was on his way to a record-breaking ninth world title in Abu Dhabi when Williams’ Nicholas Latifi crashed, setting in motion a chain of events that would culminate in a final-lap duel between the two title contenders.

On fresh tyres, Verstappen easily passed incumbent champion Hamilton to win the race and the 2021 Formula One championship.
